    Why is it telling me my password is incorrect when i just signed in with it?


    So my computer is on a local account, I want to connect my microsoft account to it and so I put in my email like it asks and then my password. It then prompts me to sign into my microsoft/windows account again with my windows password, yet when I use the password I just used which was accepted, it tells me the password I entered for my device was incorrect. I reset my password already and still the same issue. How is it that the password that was just accepted and used to sign in now is incorrect when trying to connect my account to my computer.

    password sign in

    Hi,

    About your concern with typing the password after being idle, it is actually recommended to activate for security reasons.

    If you wish to disable it, I suggest you to follow the below steps and check if it helps.

    • Go to Settings.
    • Click on Accounts.
    • Click on Sign in options.
    • On the right side, you will see required sign in.
    • Change it to Never.
