Windows 10: Why is lenovo laptop internal speakers not working but headphones are?

I own a lenovo yoga laptop with windows 10 64 bit operating system. Yesterday, My laptops internal speakers has stopped working all of sudden. If I plugin the USB speakers. It works completely fine. So I am confused about what to do in this situation.

Also, I did some research on the internet and made few changes into my laptop but they didn't work.

1. Update the audio driver.

2. Restart the audio files.

3. Enabled the audio enhancement settings.

But no solution till now. What should I do now? Please help?

No sound through speakers only through headphones

Check this thread at lenovo, if any info is helpful. Start Smart audio app, and try suggestions..

And other thread (from 2015.., like many) suggests it is a hardware problem, and it was solved by replacing the motherboard *Sad

try with different Windows user (create one if you don't have it), and also clean boot (disabling all non MS services). If problem occurs there, it is probably hardware

 

Win 10 - 2004 update - internal speakers but no headphones

Wired headphones. Usually when plugged in the audio to the internal speaker is cut-off and switched to headphone. When headphones are plugged in now this does not happen

2 x Speakers (High Definition Audio Device)

No headphones listed

BTW this is true for 4 other Lenovo machines I have - no headphones listed

 

Speakers and headphones work at the same time
