Windows 10: Why is Microsoft not sending me a code to change my password?

I'm trying to login to my Microsoft account, I ask for a code and it sends it quickly to my email account. Then I try to change my password and Microsoft wants to send me another code just to get into my Security options. That code also comes within the next couple minutes. Then it asks a THIRD time to send another code to change my password, and that code never comes. You've literally made it impossible for me to change my own password. This is beyond incredible. Your security is not working with me.I would like to speak to a representative on this to have this resolved.

Kid locked out of Family account. Unable to change password

We understand the concern as you are unable to change your child’s Microsoft Account password. In this scenario, we would suggest you to perform these steps.

1. Login to
   www.login.live.com using your child’s Microsoft Account.
2. Click on forgot password.
3. Check the radio button and enter the Email account to send the code.
4. In case you don’t have access to that verification email account then click on
   I don’t have any of these.
5. Now follow the onscreen steps and check if you are able to reset the password.

Let us know the results. If the issue persists, we will certainly assist you further.

Welcome to the Microsoft Community.

I would suggest you to follow the below steps and check if it helps.

• Try disconnecting the cable from the Internet:

• • If there is a Wi-Fi icon on the sign-in screen, click it and go to Airplane mode.
    
  • If there is a wired connection, disconnect the wire.
  • If sign-in is successful, let us know in the comments!
  • Also, we can then change to a local account, restart, and re-connect to the MSA.
    
  • If this works, please let us know!

2. Try sign-in on another device (phone or PC) via the
https://account.microsoft.com
page.

• If the sign-in is unsuccessful, stop and handle it like any other password issue.
  
• If sign-in is successful there, don’t try resetting/changing the password, continue to the next step.

3. Try using the On-Screen Keyboard to sign in on the PC.

4. If that fails, make sure the PC is connected to the Internet (the connection icon should be visible in the lower right).

Want to change Microsoft Password.

If you are signing in to your Microsoft account, but tells you that the password is incorrect when you enter your password, it could be that the email address is spelled or entered incorrectly. Make sure that the email address that you are signing in to
is correct and that Caps Lock is turned off.

If the email address and password is correct, you can reset your password to sign in to your account again. Here's how to reset your password:

• Go to the Reset your password page.
• Choose the reason you need for the password reset, then click Next.
• Enter the email address you used when you made your Microsoft account. This could be any email address, or an email ending in a Microsoft domain like hotmail.com or outlook.com.
• Enter the characters you see on the screen, then click Next.
• If you have security info on your account, we'll send a one-time code to the alternate phone number or email address you gave us. After you enter that code on the next screen, you'll be able to make a new password.

However, there are times in changing your account settings can affect how you sign in, and resetting your password will not resolve it. Here are some scenarios where resetting your password won't work:

• If you can't get a security code.
• If your profile is temporarily blocked.
• If you recently turned on two-step verification.
• If you're traveling or using a new device.
• If the password reset page says that it can't recognize your Microsoft account.
