Windows 10: why is Microsoft Store region locked in the UK and my login grey box closing?

Code: 0x87e10002This keeps happening despite region being set to the UKThe store tells me "this store is not available in your country or region" and to change it in setting but when i do the message still appears!This is on a new user account I made on my pc and it functions fine just with a few bugs and issues, when i go to log in to a microsoft account for an app it just closes the grey box and when i try to open microsoft apps it just closes. i saw someone had something similar but it never got fixed and the people stopped responding.any ideas of what to do

I suggest you to follow the steps below and check if it helps.

• Open windows / settings
• Select time & language settings
• Open region and language
• Set Country & region to "UK"
• Add Language "English UK" and set as default by clicking on "English UK", "Set as default"
• Click on "English UK" and select "options"
• Install Language pack, and speech pack
• Click on " SPEECH" in the menu and select "ENGLISH UK"
• Then enable Cortana from the search box / settings

A grey box appears then disappears when signing into microsoft account


I had the grey login box but after a few tries it lets me login to my MS account. This is in the store or settings it used to happen.

I still have a problem where my windows lock screen/login screen has just the time etc on a grey background; no pictures etc.

 

Edge Search Does Not Permit Change of Region


I got these suggestions from the Microsoft Community forum.No. 1 worked for me:

We have reproduce the issue here and we are able to access non-regional search for google using Microsoft Edge.
I would suggest you to try the below steps and check if it helps.
Step 1:
Clear browsing data option of Microsoft Edge and check if you face the issue. To do so perform the steps below.

1. Click on the More actions icon next to the feedback icon present on top right corner of the Project Spartan homepage.
2. Select Settings and click on Choose what to clear.
3. Check the boxes Browsing history, Cookies and saved website data and Cached data and files and click on Clear.

Step 2:
I suggest you to create a new user account and check if the issue occurs.

1. Go to Settings.
2. Choose Accounts and then select Family and other users.
3. Select add someone else on this PC.
4. Enter a user name and hit next.
5. Click on Finish.
6. Sign out from the current Account and Log into the new account.

Step 3:
It could also happen because of network issue. I suggest you to try with different network connection and check if it helps.
