Windows 10: Why is MSN comment moderation so poorly implemented?

MSN is so poorly implemented. Is it due to bias in the creators of the system, a directive from the conservative c-suite at Microsoft, or just incompetence?The entire feed is filled with misinformation, yet many times you are not even allowed to correct the misinformation with a neutral statement of the facts without being accused of either bullying or harassment by the system - and these are just factual statements, not calling the other guy an idiot or anything remotely like that. Yet it's filled with vile insults and very obvious misinformation troll comments. I would think it's doing ha

Sorry but you aren't communicating with MSN here. No one here can tell you why a comment was

blocked. And you may be confusing moderation here ( Redirecting ) with moderation of comments at www.msn.com

Here's my canned response on moderation.



I can't explain the moderation of comments to MSN articles, but here are some observations.

1. You may find useful information at Microsoft News

2. There were so many unacceptable comments that commenting was shut down for a few

months not too long ago.

3. Now that commenting is allowed again, moderation is very restrictive.

4. Moderation is a dysfunctional mess. It's being done via AI, via a bot, not humans and is

random and inexplicable.

5. If a comment you tried to post was banned, that will be in your activity feed, and you

can appeal that decision.

6. I've searched but have not found a way to contact MSN staff regarding this moderation

except the Feedback link that's at the bottom of nearly every MSN webpage. If you receive

a reply to the feedback, it will be a generic reply that doesn't address your specific issue.

Hi,

Maybe, hopefully (if you're real) you can help me. It seems that making a comment to someone is almost impossible because these particular sites are monitored by bots, not real people. I posted a question in the community and it was deleted. For the life of me, I don't know why. Maybe it was too hard of a question to answer or maybe it was monitored by bots. Oh, and please excuse the tone of this post, it is justified frustration.

I had asked the question how does a moderator, if an AI bot, determines what is considered "harassment and/or bullying"? But I haven't received a legitimate answer and my comment was deleted from the community forum. It seems this site has become overly sensitive to people's comments and it is now labeling just about every normal English word found in the dictionary as "harassment and/or bullying". I'm not talking about hateful, derogatory, racist speech. It gets to the point where people cannot comment every day words to each other. I tried making a comment to someone and it was flagged as "harassment and/or bullying". Neither of these is true. And then it has a link saying, "if we made a mistake let us know.", however, this link in blue does not work! This is just ONE of the simple comments being made and my response:

The link does not work!

It is utterly ridiculous, and irresponsible, that people have to spell common dictionary words in another way to post a comment. And AGAIN, I'm not talking about hateful, derogatory, racist comments. I'm talking about everyday dictionary words. Why can I not post the word gender or male or female? What is so hateful about these words? These are everyday words that are in the dictionary.

Who decides what is considered harassment? Because those "community guidelines" are way off base.
