Windows 10: why is my audio not working there is a little red x on my task bar where the audio icon is

    why is my audio not working there is a little red x on my task bar where the audio icon is


    The icon on the lower right hand side there is a red x mark on the audio when I click it it tells me there is no audio running, can you pls. help.

    Internet Icon with red "x"

    Hey guys,

    There is a little red x by my internet icon down on my task bar but my internet is working fine. It is just bothering me that I cannot get rid of it. Does anyone know how? I've tried clicking on it and it says that everything is working fine and I am connected
    to Wi-Fi. So why is there the red x? Also, my audio keeps on going out but when I troubleshoot it it starts working again. I don't understand that either. My laptop is operating on Windows 10 now. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!

    Audio service

    On the task bar of my Windows 10 laptop, there is a red x on the speaker icon, and a message appears "The audio service is not running". However, everything seems to work, and in the services window it shows audio services as running.

    Upgraded to windows 10 my audio stopped working. The volume has a red X over it and in the device manager no audio devices are listed.

    I upgraded to windows 10 my audio stopped working. The volume has a red X over it and in the device manager no audio devices are listed. How can I re-install the audio device for free?
