Windows 10: Why is my audio output Japanese in the taskbar?

Windows 10I just reset my pc and now when I hover over the volume controls on the taskbar, it's in Japanese instead of English i.e. it says "" instead of "Headphones". I've checked my locale and my region, both say English. Not a big problem but it's a little annoying.Screenshot here because this site is stupid and keeps failing to upload it properly https://ibb.co/cwxk13j

No Audio Output Device is Installed

Hi,

You will need to select Windows 8 from the drop down list while installing the driver in compatibility mode.

I would suggest you to try setting the speaker as default audio output by following the steps below and check if it helps.

1. Right click on the sound icon on the right bottom corner of the taskbar.

2. Select "playback devices".

3. If "speaker" is not set as the default device, highlight it and click "set as default".

5. Save the changes.

I've tried every step that was suggested, still getting no audio output device installed.

 

Audio Output While CAST TO Device

I have a couple of videos that have multiple audio outputs such as English and Japanese.

When i play the video on the computer, i can change the audio output to whichever language i want, but when I cast the video to my TV, its always in Japanese and I don't have the option to change it to English.

Is there a way to get around this problem ?
