Windows 10: Why is my camera freezing during use?

Currently my Hp Laptop 15-dy1xxx 's camera has started to freeze completely when in use for example opening the camera app. Or saying it isn't able to run because another device is using it despite there is no another device when I check. I have tried the recommended trouble shoots like resetting it, updating the driver and going back to the default driver. However none of these methods works.

Camera App freezes after a few seconds

To uninstall Camera app follow the below steps:

• Type Windows in the search box and right-click on
  Windows PowerShell.
• Select Run as administrator.
• Type get-appxpackage *Microsoft.WindowsCamera* | remove-appxpackage on the
  PowerShell and hit Enter.

You can re-install the Windows Camera app from Windows Store.

If the issue still persist, we suggest the following solutions:

• Contact the manufacturer of your Windows-based computer.
• Reset your PC.

USB Camera Freezes

My parents computer is having trouble with a USB camera. The Windows Camera app will display a picture, then the app freezes while the computer works. About two months ago, it worked fine, but now it has these problems. I have plugged the camera into another USB 2.0 port as well as updated, and uninstalled the drivers, but the Camera still freezes. I also checked permissions, and access is enabled to the camera. I have also run sfc /scannow, which found and repaired errors, but the camera still freezes. A different USB camera was plugged in but with the same result. Any suggestions?

settings to see if the camera access is turned on. Kindly follow the steps below to check the camera privacy settings:

• Press the Windows key + I to open the Settings app.
• Near the top of the Settings app window is the search box, kindly type the word "webcam" or "camera".
• From the list of results choose Camera privacy settings.
• Make sure that "Let apps use my camera" toggle is set to On.
