Windows 10: Why is my camera tracking my face?

So, I know I turned on some setting that I didn't know of in the camera app of Windows 11 to track my face. Its basically Apple's Center Stage where it keeps your face in the from and zooms in on it if you get too far. It works in 3rd party apps and online too. At that time I thought it was cool but now I want to turn it off. I tried looking everywhere, in all the settings and I couldn't find where to turn off this feature. It's not an external camera that is doing this it's the internal camera. I tried pressing the reset to default settings in the settings app and camera app but it didn't wor

The first thing you can try is resetting the camera. To do this go to Settings, swipe left to Applications, tap 'photos+camera', and then select 'reset camera'.



If that does not resolve make the front-facing camera option appear, then try soft resetting the phone by holding Volume Down + Power button for 10 seconds until the phone vibrates.

Elecom Windows Hello Face Camera

Windows restore wouldn't help, because there is nothing to restore to. This is a brand new install of the camera- the system never had one before. I went to the first site on the list in the second step you suggested, and it mentions two files, helloface.inf and hellofacemigration.inf and specifies the directory where they should be found. I don't have this directory or either of these files. I found a copy of helloface.inf in another directory, and tried a right click and install, but that didn't help. I have a laptop with a face recognition cam that works, but that machine doesn't have these files or the specified directory, so I wonder if these files are no longer necessary. I tried everything in the second site, but that didn't help. I checked my services and made sure that the Windows Biometric service was running, and it is. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the Windows Hello Face optional feature, but that didn't help. sfc/ scannow shows no problems. I tried running the camera troubleshooter, but that didn't help. I'll try other steps later- I don't have any more time to spend on it now.

• Did you make any hardware and software changes in your computer prior to this issue?
  

Follow the Steps below and check if that helps.

Run the Hardware and Devices Troubleshooter.

Windows 10 has a built-in troubleshooter to check and fix issues with hardware and devices. I would suggest you to run this troubleshooter to check if the issue is with the Bluetooth adapter. Refer these steps:

  Press Windows key +X, select
  Control panel.

  Change the view by option on the top right to
  Large icons.
  
• 
  Click on troubleshooting and click on the
  view all option on the left panel.
  
• 
  Run the Hardware and devices troubleshooter.
  
• 
  Restart your computer and check if the issue is resolved.
  

Also open Device manager and click on View and select
Show hidden devices and check if you are able to find front Camera;
Hoover mouse point and click on Scan for hardware changes.
