    Why is my computer a lot slower than usaual?


    Hi! My Windows computer is very slow and I need help. My computer has barely anything installed and is as slow as a snail but it is only until 15 minutes after boot where it becomes usable but then it can get slow again.     HP Desktop is a lot slower than usual...

    My HP Desktop has been a lot slower than it usually is. I don't know if it has to do with the latest update or patches or what it is. But when I first wake it up and enter my password to unlock it, it's slow clicking on the lock screen to enter the PIN code. Once I am in, the Start Menu freezes up or hangs. Then, it's okay after that.

    Any suggestions?

    Why did the startup window get cleared?

    I didn't missed any step, the list was gone and gone , even after using lot of programs the programs were not listed in that list.

    HP Desktop is a lot slower than usual...

    Well, for one it could be your hard drive dying. Another could be that the update is causing some hiccups with your hardware, to put it plainly, your computer wasn't designed to handle it. Or, it may just be getting a little locked up and you might want to reinstall Windows. Did this on my Sony Vaio VPCEH14FM. It was really laggy for no reason. Reinstalled Windows and it is just fine.
