Windows 10: Why is my computer missing the XS1.1.DLL all of a sudden?

Ever since November of last year, I have been getting the following error code when my computer starts up image attached, but I am not sure what caused the change or for it to be missing. I don't game or anything on my computer, just basic use. My updates are set to auto:"The code extension cannot proceed because xs1.1.dll was not found"

Why don't I just go back and indicate that on my original post? That way there's access to the 'step-by-step' instructions, which are accessed via those green 'plus' signs next to the topics.

Method 2: Run the System File Checker tool.
