Windows 10: Why is my computer screen black but I can still see my cursor?

So, a couple days ago I was playing a game on my laptop, and then my computer was frozen for a couple minutes, so I pressed the power button and closed it. I pressed it again and turned it on, and I signed in like normal. After I signed in, the computer screen was black. I could still see my cursor and everything. I've tried pressing windows key + p, windows key + ctrl + shift + b, I've tried pressing ctrl + alt + DEL and hold shift while I press the restart button, but when I press the button to get to the restart button, it says "failed to display security options" and such. I believe my lap

So this is not a BSOD ? Have a Windows 10 disc or USB Flash Drive made ? How are you getting to task manager Ctrl.+Alt+Del ? Any cursor on screen ?

How can I do the steps listed above, there is nothing but a black screen, nothing to click on. When I restart the computer, there is no problem. But sooner or later I get the black screen. I mean my Mom just bought a brand new computer, and it also does
it to her. Could the screensaver be causing the problem? It is a screensaver that comes with Windows 10.

We would like to know more about your concern. Have you checked if you update your Windows 10 already? If not, we recommend to update your Windows 10 computer to see if it will make a progress and eliminate issues with it. Sleep mode settings could also
be a possible root cause since you said that it turns into black screen after leaving the computer open. Please try to check the screen settings by performing the following steps:

• On your Computer, open Settings.
• Choose System.
• Go to Power & Sleep.
• Under Screen, set it to Never.
