Windows 10: Why is my computer suddenly not recognizing my PIN, nor giving me any other way to log in...

I am the only person who has access, I have not changed my pin. Clicking 'forgot my pin' doesn't give me any other sign in options...it just goes to the pre launch home screen. I press a key and I'm back at the PIN screen. Why on earth would this have happened? How do I get back into my computer, and how do I diagnose why this change occured? I don't think I will use a PIN anymore if I'm going to risk getting locked out.Windows 11, new computer. Was working on it yesterday without any problems.

Firstly, it's important to confirm that your computer is connected to the internet so that it can actively sync passphrases and pins with your account. If you're entering the correct PIN and it's not being accepted, it could be due to corruption of the Ngc folder, a problem with your Microsoft or local accounts, or misconfigured PIN settings in the Group Policy Editor.

You can try resetting your PIN. To do this, go to the profile's login page and click on "I forgot my PIN". You can either reset the PIN by verifying your identity with your Microsoft account password or choose an alternative sign-in option by clicking "Send code", which sends a code to your email address.

If resetting the PIN doesn't resolve the issue, you can use your account password instead. To do that, click "Sign-in options" to view other options for logging in. Click the key icon, which is usually located on the left. Type the password associated with your account here.

Help with resetting pin to log into computer

I use a pin number to sign in to my computer. I'd like to change the pin number, but when I go through the steps, it seems to be asking me to log in to my microsoft account. When I try to do that, it says it doesn't recognize my account. But I can sign into my account by going to office.com, so I am not sure why when I try to access my account from the pin reset page, it doesn't recognize my account.

QUESTION: Why suddenly doesn't my log on PIN is NOT recognized?

After many attempts to reenter my password, the system asks me to "reset" account, so without any further instructions, since I am not able to log into my laptop, I simply reboot my laptop.

I again try many attempts to log in including doing the "Challenge".

By observation, it appears that the log on process doesn't seem to recognize the key board strokes.

After many attempts to retry entering my password, I sometimes get lucky and the system accepts my log in password, which was just earlier being denied.

This is the first time I have experienced this so I'd like to report this suspicious incident.
