Windows 10: Why is my cursor moving at random from the place I am typing to the middle of the document?

I have been having an issue with the cursor on my new Asus Vivobook laptop moving at random from the spot where I am typing to the middle of the document. I am using Windows 11. It happens when I am using email or word documents. I thought at first that I was touching the mousepad with my wrist but this doesn't seem to be the case. Is this a known issue with Windows 11 or should I be concerned that there is an issue with the laptop itself?

Moving cursor while typing


When I am typing, emails, chat msgs, etc and I am careful to avoid the touchpad, my cursor will automatically move back to the front or middle of verbiage I have already typed, and cause over typing.

 

Keybooard cursor randomly moves while I am typing

I have trouble touch typing with the keyboard on my dell inspiron 15s. The cursor will move and I am typing in the middle of a previous sentence or sometimes I can't find the cursor at all. More frustrating is finding that I lost several paragraphs and
I don't know what I did. My computer came with Windows 8 and a friend thought Windows 10 would fix it, but I don't think it has.

Any suggestions?

 

Since the last Windows 10 update, random editing boxes pop up when I type. They move the cursor moves backward into what I've already typed.
