Windows 10: WHY IS MY DESKTOP FOLDER UNDER MY PROFILE MISSING EVEN WITH HIDDEN ITEMS TO SHOW?

AND DESKTOP IS THERE?

Duplicate folders showing as both unhidden and hidden with "Hidden items" box in attributes unchecked

The folders in file explorer Documents, Downloads, Music, Pictures are saved to my desktop in a folder called Shortcuts. The properties in the General tab of each folder have the "Hidden items" box unchecked in folder attributes however the same folders still show up as hidden as well. If I try to delete the hidden items in each folder it in turn deletes the corresponding shown items in the folder. I have verified the checkedvalue of REG_DWORD as being "1" in using registry using regedit, as well as, verifying the '"Hidden items" box is unchecked for each folder in File Explorer. I have also ran SFC /Scannow file checker and no issues found as well as virus scans using my security suite including KVRT root killer with both showing pc is clean. Why are all these folders with the "Hidden items" check box in "View" unchecked also showing up in hidden when the "Hidden items" check box in "View" is checked as well, is there a fix?

 

Hidden folders

I installed `Kane and Lynch` on my PC twice in Program Files(x86) folder but I can`t find them (2 folders with game). But free space on my HDD is lower. So there`re those folders on my hdd. I use option `unhide` hidden folders but still can`t find them. Any suggestions? How can i delete those hidden folders?

When I run istallation for this game I can see those folders in Program Files(x86) folde.

I`m using Win 7 Ultimate 64 bit.

 

How to show hidden/hide folders/files for only "one specific drive"?

First way

Step 1: Open This PC.
Double-click This PC on the desktop to open it.
You can also open another folder such as Network, File Explorer, Recycle Bin, etc.

Step 2: Show the hidden files and folders in the View menu.
Click View, tap Show/hide in the menu, and check the small box before Hidden items in the sub-list.

Second Way :Show hidden files and folders in the Folder Options.

Step 1: Open Folder Options.
Open This PC, click View and select Options.

Step 2: Show the hidden files and folders in the View settings.
In the Folder Options window, choose View, select Show hidden files, folders, and drives, and then click OK.
