  1. Why is my Headset and Speakers on two different ports the same device?

I'm not really sure when this happened, but when I wanted to switch from my headset to my speakers today, the only audio devices I can choose from are Digital Audio (HDMI) and Speakers (High Definition Audio Device).

My monitors doesn't have speakers so I don't use HDMI Audio. I had to disconnect my headset from the front panel to make the speakers work.

    3. Have you tried using the headset in a different audio port?
    4. Have you tried using the headset on a different PC?

As you have mentioned you have tried some steps, may I know, what are the troubleshooting steps you have tried?

Also, if you are using a headset with built in Microphone, I suggest you to follow the steps mentioned below.

    Good surround sound headset

I know you say you're not that guy, but stepping into the $250+ range really brings a change in build quality that might have you never having to buy another set. Otherwise, getting 6 speakers with decent sound in a headset is hard, and that's what you are asking for, and I have no suggestions, but just a bump up the list. *Stick Out Tongue Why is my Headset and Speakers on two different ports the same device? :p

    Headset replaces the speakers

When i connect my headset it "replaces" the speakers.

Headphones do not occure as a separate devices in playback devices(disabled devices too), but they start working INSTEAD of speakers.

So this is how it looks like:

I have my Speakers in the playback devices. I connect headset - microphone appears in the recording devices, but nothign changes in the playback devices, howerver, the sound is now being run through the headphones and i cannot make it run through speakers unless
i disattach the headphone cable. How to fix it?

I want my headphones listed as a separate device, so i can run different sound though speakers and headphones, for instance - games and communication.
