  1. Why is my home computer linked to my work computer?

    Hello,

At my office, I have 4 computers on the same network. It's just a small network in our office only. Just those 4 computers.

Some time ago, I was checking out my user permissions on one of the computers. I noticed that it was asking me if I wanted to link my user name to my Microsoft account. I figured it wouldn't hurt.

So I gave it my hotmail address and password.

After this, I was then able to choose a four number pin for logging into that computer. It worked great with no issues.

Then about 4 months later, I was on one of the other computers on the network. I decided to change the desktop image to a photograph of a building in my home town.

The next day, I logged onto my home computer and my desktop image changed to this building in my home town.

When I went to work the next day, I changed the desktop image again to a Ferrari. Two days later, my home computer changes to the Ferrari.

Why the heck is this happening? I'm not even logging into this work computer with my Microsoft account.

    :)

  2. Computer Not Working

It's a laptop and it has a battery so I don't think that will work unless you want me ripping out the battery repeatedly

    Computer Not Working

    Hi,

Failure to access the Start menu and missing icons can be caused by a corrupted user profile. To isolate your concern, we suggest that you perform the following steps to trigger
Safe Mode through the Windows Recovery Environment (WinRE) option and create a new user account. To do this, follow the steps below:

    • Improper shutdown process
      • Turn on your computer. When the Windows logo is visible, unplug the power source of your computer. Perform this step three times.
      • On the fourth time that you turn on your computer, just simply wait for the
Windows Recovery Environment (WinRE) window to appear.
    • On the Choose an option screen, select Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Startup Settings and click
      Restart.
    • Once your computer restarts, you will see a list of options. Press the
      F4
key to start your computer in Safe Mode.

Once you were able to access Safe Mode, we suggest that you follow the steps provided on this
link on how to create a local user or administrator
account in Windows 10. By doing this, we may identify if this is an account related issue. The link also contains all the necessary information including the step on how to set up a new account in Windows 10.

Give us an update with the outcome.

Why is my home computer linked to my work computer?

One computer cannot access other network computers.

So I've tried every troubleshooting step I know:
    • Double checked that Net Bios was enabled
    • Ran a bunch of network commands:
      • flushed DNS
      • registered dns
      • pinged and located the named computers successfully
    • Reset my router to factory settings

Nothing works when I try to access via explorer. I'm still baffled by the fact that every other computer can access each other AND access this computer. It's just the outgoing connection from this machine that doesn't work.

    Any thoughts?
