Windows 10: Why is my laptop fan on for no reason?

Just received my Samsung Galaxy book 4 laptop- windows 11, all drivers have been updated and all software updates have been completed. When I startup the laptop and log in the fans roar for about 2 minutes then cool down, then randomly the fan turns on and off even when I’m not doing any demanding tasks. In viewing task manager I tend to see nothing obvious that could be the cause though occassionally something like below occurs.



Once the fan gets going it doesn't appear as if it will stop until I shut my laptop down fully.

Checked my fan physically and no dust.

Replaced thermal compound between cpu and heat sink.

Scanned with windows defender and malwarebytes to find nothing.

Appears to ramp up randomly. Played an intensive game without issue.

I figured it might be related to using my browser - Mozilla. Deleted all history/cookies etc, switched to edge.

Tried to eliminate as many programs to find anything to the point of resetting win10.

Not sure what to do now. Any ideas?

Suggested so far…

Disconnecting from internet = no change

Process explorer = 97-99% idle

Checking BIOS version = most up to date

Sent in support ticket - Awaiting response

Acquired SpeedFan - Unable to add any fan controller

Acquired NoteBook FanControl - Able to target fan speed in steps of 25%. Will spin up to max at any stepping other than 0%. Appears as if tilting my laptop can set the fan off to max. Currently using 0% target fan to bring it back down.

 

Utility for laptop fan control?

Note that, depending on your laptop, any direct control of the fan may not be possible. I suggested the one above as it seems aimed at laptops in particular- but I've not tried it.

E.g. Speedfan lists no fan on my Thinkpad.

Ok, I've now tried NoteBook FanControl for you.
It has preset configurations for different machines: e.g.




which for my t440s gives




- whereas Speedfan didn't seem to achieve anything, I'm afraid. Presumably you looked at the config editor...

Please go back through to make sure all of the many suggestions in links provided earlier were tried.

You could also communicate with Alfredo who creates Notebook Fan Control at the email address provided on his tool. He would be the best expert for it's use.
