Windows 10: Why Is My Laptop's Internal HDD Suddenly Goes Missing?

I have 2 disk drives in my computer. One is the drive for my OS installed in 200+GB SSD and the other is a 1TB HDD.


My HDD sometimes goes missing. But I'm thinking that it is because my laptop that is inside my bag that time fell on a concrete floor. I think I broke my HDD. I did some research in the internet and saw that HDDs can easily be broken when it fell to the ground.


Did I really broke my HDD or is it a software problem?


I have reinstalled Windows 10 twice via the computer's "Reset This PC" and once via USB Flash Drive. I did this since I want to know if the real reason for my HDD going missing sometimes is because it's broken. My HDD came back. I copied my backup files that is about 90GB and pasted in the HDD. No problem occurred when I did that.

Two days passed and I installed an app on my computer. This popular app enables me to buy games from their store. I relocated my downloads to go to the HDD instead on my SSD to save space. When I tried downloading a game I already bought before, the download speed is somehow very slow even though our internet is okay. When I restarted my computer, the internal HDD had gone missing again.


I am planning to change my laptop's HDD to an SSD anyway.


But please, any answers will be appreciated.

HDD was unreadable
causing the error message to appear. We recommend that you perform these troubleshooting steps and check if there are any changes:

  and
  turn on
  your
  PC.

  Reconnect
  your
  HDD
  and
  restart
  your
  PC.

for further assistance.
