Windows 10: Why is my Microsoft Store buying location dependent on my Windows 11 language setting?

Often, I cannot buy items from the Microsoft Store because my system language is not identical with my the language in the region where I live.During checkout Microsoft Store expects my postcode to be in the region, where my system language is set. But it is not, so I cannot buy the items.Why would Microsoft connect those two? What does my personal language have to do with the region that I live in?

Location setting

This issue could occur due to incorrect location settings or it would depend on your IP address. We suggest you to check the location settings of your PC, and check if it helps. Here are the steps:

• Click the Start button, and select Settings.
• Go to Privacy, and choose Location.
• Make sure that the Location service is On.

If issue persists, then it has something to do with your IP address. It’s because the location detected depends on the location set on your IP address.

Windows 10 Store can not buy apps

I understand your concern and will assist you to resolve this issue.

To buy an app from the Windows Store in a specific country or region, you need to change the location for your PC, and then add a payment method from that country or region to your Store account.

For example, if you buy an app from the Store and your PC's location is set to the United States, your payment method needs to be one from the United States.

To change the home location for your PC to a specific country or region

I suggest you to follow the steps and check if it helps

• Go to System tray and select All settings
• Click on time and Language
• Select Region and Language
• Under country or region
• Select the country or region for your location from the list.

You might need to restart your PC for these changes to go into effect.

Unable to rent or buy Movies from Microsoft store

1. Do you receive any error while buying or renting Movies?
   
2. Were you able to buy or rent movies from Microsoft store with the same Microsoft account previously?
   
3. Have you tried using the Microsoft store website to buy or rent movies?

Method 1:



Verify the region, date & time settings.

1. Press the Windows key + I to open Settings.
   
2. Tap or click Time & language.
   
3. Select either Date & time or Region & language and check all settings.
   

Method 2:



Reset the Microsoft store app.

1. Press Windows key + R. This will open
   Run. Alternatively, you can go to Start and search for ‘Run’.
   
2. In Run dialog box, type ‘wsreset’ and hit enter.
