    Why is my NTUSER.dat file in Chinese script and modified very recently?


    Hi,Admittedly, I am not a very tech savvy person. I have suspicion of the hack of my personal machine or home network or both. That's why I am looking at all files and folders closely. I noticed that my NTUSER. dat file was updated very recently and when I open it using notepad, it is mostly in Chinese script. Can you please let me know if this is normal. If not, what are the steps I need to take to detect if my machine or network is cloned / hacked or being watched? Which folders or files or programs can I check to see if my machine or network is compromised? PS: I used to use my office machi

    .dat files are modified by WordPerfect and Windows Spotlight is not working.

    Does anyone know how I can prevent WordPerfect from attaching itself to .dat files when I install the program? Every time it modifies .dat files windows 10 doesn't recognize then data file then anything that relies on the data file stops working ie Windows
    Spotlight.

    yeah- that's my trouble- I'm not a code/script writer (only modified a driver to support AMD64 since the driver was made pre 64bit and wouldn't install unless if the line was implemented haha) - shouldn't have to go in there to wipe it all the time either lol.

    GPEDIT.msc doesn't have a setting in there either.
