Windows 10: Why is my pc not able to read my files from my phone by the use of USB?

My laptop doesn't read files from the phone connected by USB

Able to transfer files from phone to PC via USB, but not vice versa

Did you set the USB mode to file transfer? When you connect your phone via USB, you should get a notification on the phone (phone has to be unlocked), choose "Use USB for: File Transfer" Then you should be able to transfer files. Make sure the directory you are trying to write to is not write protected.

You can also try to enable developer / debugging mode if it doesnt work.

How to read USB pen drive

Performed steps as advised Pls see attached photo After finish, now I can copy/paste files on the USB drive. I'll test the USB drive on a Linux computer later. Thanks for your advice. Another question; How can I read/retrieve files on WDC WD2002FAEX-007BAO WDC WD2005VBYZ-02RRWB2 They are storage drives - ext4 and; Samsung SSD 860 EVO 2TB SanDisk SDSSDH3250G They are Linux drives on this PC Pls see attached photo device_manager Thanks Regards

 

not able to copy files from PC to nokia lumia 520

A few things to try.

• Unplug the phone.
• Remove the SD card.
• Restart the phone and connect to PC. Remember to use a different USB socket than that was used previously.
  

Did the phone show up in file explorer?

If it did, repeat the same steps, this time, with the SD card inside the phone. Also, what OS are you using? Have you tried more than one computer?
