    Why is my product key no longer being recognized?


    I built my first PC a year ago, purchased an official copy of Windows, then a few days ago an update gets pushed through and my computer wants me to activate my windows again. So I go to do that and get told that my product key is not official. The notification in settings is different than what is shown on the command script. 0xC004F213

    I want to thank everyone for taking the time to respond to my query. I have to say some of the suggestions assume a tech capability beyond me.

    I think I will find the original receipt, go back to the shop, and ask them for the Product Key, then try again. I suspect it was an unauthorized copy. Maybe that will work.

    According to my computer, Windows7 is activated and is a genuine product. But when I attempt to download W10, it does not recognize the 25 digit Product Key. I don't know what to do.

    Why is my product key no longer being recognized?

    No longer recognizes CD/DVD drive


    Since receiving the Win 10 Home upgrade my computer no longer recognizes the DVD drive. It doesn't show in Device Manger or in the device list in This PC although it does spin up if you insert media into it. I've tried all the suggested remedies except messing with the registry and nothing works. This is one of several problems I've had with device drivers since the upgrade.

    Windows 10 Home 64 bit
    AMD FX-4130 3.80Ghz
    8Gb Installed memory
