    HiI bought my laptop Hp15s eq 1 year ago and it had 16Gb RAM and today i went to check up the ram in Settings and i saw that it only said 8gb ram. So i thought maybe its bcz the way i hold the laptop, that it could maybe moved/got out the motherboard. So i opend my laptop and checked the motherboard and everything was in its place and i even took the rams out and put them back together and nothing changed in the settins still 8 gb ram and i went task manager and the same thing 8gb ram So i thought maybe lets check in the device manager and nope no error or something wrong so please, Help

    Windows shows 8GB RAM installed but 4GB RAM is usable

    Hi There,

    I've just upgraded my pc from 4GB RAM to 8GB RAM. Windows seems to have detected this upgrade but why does it show as only 4GB RAM available. The following is what I have tried so far with no luck:

    • I have tried the msconfig method on ensuring maximum memory is not checked.
    • physically removed the new RAM and reinstalled it
    Any thoughts/suggestions on how i can resolve this matter?

    That's what the auto setting will do since you're over the 1333 mark it jumps to the next step which isn't listed or officially supported I assume by that ram.

    At this point though I would suggest dropping the multi one step or .5 so that we can get something stable and possibly take the heat issue out of the picture for now.

    Hey genesis what hardware have you bought, you might be able to save on the ram and step up the rest of the hardware a little...
