Ryzen 5600GAorus B550 Pro PPalit GTX 1660tiCorsair 16gb 8x2Hiksemi 2TB SSD2TB HDD6TB HDD A few days ago I re-pasted this processor and this am4 socket made it come off by force because the processor was attached to the CPU cooler even though the socket position was still locked. then I thoroughly cleaned this PC unit. After finishing reinstalling it, the PC was still functioning normally. However, I just realized that the RAM was only read half, which was 8GB, and the BIOS and DXDIAG only showed 8GB RAM. but strangely in CPU-Z and HWinfo it read 16GB.I have tried to remove and install t

    Half of RAM 'Hardware Reserved'

I have 32GB of RAM installed and half is "hardware reserved" by Windows. I've tried every suggestion I can find, including moving the modules around to different slots. My MB does not have onboard graphics. Specs:
    • Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-AX370M-DS3H (BIOS on latest firmware)
    • CPU: Ryzen 7 2700X (upgraded from 1700x and it didn't help)
    • RAM: Corsair VENGEANCE® LPX 32GB (2 x 16GB) DDR4 DRAM 2400MHz C16 Memory Kit
    • GPU: Nvidia RTX-2060 Super
The BIOS, Windows, CPUZ and HWInfo all show 32GB installed and both slots used, but Windows says "Hardware Reserved: 16.1GB". This was occurring on Windows 10. I am currently running Windows 11 (beta channel) and it didn't help. I also upgraded my CPU from a Ryzen 7 1700 with no change. Pics: Imgur: The magic of the Internet

    Where is my RAM?

    Hi,

    Cache stored on Windows
    10 restricts your PC
from working efficiently. If there is a continuous and high volume of cached read requests from any process or from any
driver, the working set (the number of memory pages in the physical RAM)
size of the system file cache will grow to meet this demand.
The system file cache consumes the physical RAM. Therefore, sufficient
amounts of physical RAM are not available for other processes.

On 64-bit versions of Windows operating systems, the size of the virtual address range is typically larger than
the physical RAM. In this situation, the working set for the system file cache can increase to consume most of the physical RAM.

We suggest that you clear caches on your Windows 10 computer to resolve memory usage issues. Few things that you
can try clearing are the Windows Store and Temp Files caches. Check out the steps below:

How to clear the Windows Store cache:

    • Press
      Windows + R keys to open a
      Run prompt.

    • Type
      WSReset.exe
into the text box, then click
      OK.

How to clear the Temp Files cache:

    • Open the
      Start menu.

    • Type
      Disk Cleanup, then
      press Enter.

    • Under the
Disk Cleanup tab, uncheck all boxes except for
      Temporary Files, then click
      OK.

    Hope the above information helps.
Feel free to contact us if you need further help.
