  1. Why is my Realtek Audio manager not showing my detachable headset mic as an input option

I have a Windows 10 Tower PC one of those box computers and it has Realtek software that came with it. My headset has a detachable 3.5mm input for its mic that is detachable. It only does it for this PC and the mic is registered on other devices. My problem is: I'm trying to use a voice chat in Destiny 2 on Steam platform, but I'm not able to communicate with voice because I cannot select my headset mic as an input option. I've been offered advice in-game to manage my Xbox gaming bar. The thing with that is the gaming bar's Default communications input Dropdown only shows these options; "Mic

Gaming Headset W/ Detachable Mic Support Issues

    Hi all

I'm using a Corsair gaming headset, the headset has a detachable microphone with a plug-in jack. This headset has worked fine up until tonight (10/01/2019). I'm aware that when plugging directly into your computer, such as the tower, windows 10 provides
an option to select what device has been input. In my case I am aware this needs to be a headset, not headphones. However recently, I struggled to change this after mistakenly putting the option as a headphone, and when plugging the mic into my headset it
    would not work.

I seem to have arranged a work-around, leaving the option for the dialog box to appear each time I detach and reinsert my headset, however unless the headset is inserted with the mic attached, it simply will not recognise it when plugged in. Does anyone know
what settings I need to change to switch from headset to headphones, and vice versa, as well as to make sure I can simply plug in my headset and then my mic later on without having to then re-attach and reset them?

Additionally, I did have some issues with my audio drivers, as it was suggested to disable realtek audio manager and then re-install it, however I attempted this and now only the Realtek audio driver is present in my device manager. I can still use my headset,
as above and have noticed no degradation in audio quality, but I want to know if this would also be an issue.

Further details can be provided on request, thanks in advance.

Realtek Audio not giving me an option for headset

    • Recently I upgraded my PC to a new one with an h87n wifi motherboard, but when I went to plug my headphones in (which have a mic), it gave me 4 options: line-in, mic-in, headphone and speaker out. Only the mic in option actually had any input, although
it just consisted of some captured audio but mostly static. On my old PC I believe I had to just choose between 'Headphones,' and 'Headset,' with the latter sending audio input and output to the system. Whenever I click on that notification, it takes me to
the Realtek Audio Console, which simply says it 'does not support for this machine'

Laptop not splitting headset mic & audio?

    Hi
Simple version. When i plug in my headset to my laptop windows10 is not splitting it into one output and one input.

I fixed this years back by setting the popup box 'whats plugged in' from headphone to headset. Then it split the audio and mic. However i had to reinstall windows and now when i select headset it just mutes my laptop mic and audio manager just shows the one mic, but two audio outputs.

It was working before the reset and i have tested the headset on another computer and it is working find.
So far i tried device manage audio driver install, for both Realtek driver and High Definition driver but either resolve the issue.

Any suggestions why windows would pick up one and not the other?

I currently have it set to headphone plugged in so that i can use my laptop mic, but ive been told i sound really bad *Sad

    Cheers,
    Zola
