RAM speed is different in CMD and Task manager, what to do?

It is possible that the system is using XMP (Extreme Memory Profile) to run the RAM at a higher speed than the default speed. To check the speed of the RAM, you can use a few different methods:

    1. Check the BIOS: Enter the BIOS setup and check the RAM speed in the "Memory" or "Hardware" section.
    2. Use a system information utility: There are many utilities available that can display information about your hardware, including the RAM speed. One example is the free utility "Speccy" from Piriform.
    3. Use the Windows Task Manager: In the Task Manager, go to the "Performance" tab and look for the "Memory" section. The speed of the RAM should be displayed here.
    4. Use the Windows Command Prompt: Open the Command Prompt and type the command "wmic memorychip get speed". This will display the speed of each RAM module installed in the system.
It is also possible that the Task Manager is displaying the wrong speed for the RAM. If the BIOS, system information utility, and Command Prompt all show the correct speed (3200 MHz) but the Task Manager is showing a different speed, it could be a bug or issue with the Task Manager.

If you are still having trouble determining the correct speed of the RAM, it may be helpful to consult the documentation for your motherboard or contact the manufacturer for assistance.

  3. Weird Task Manager ethernet speed

    Hi there guys..
I noticed something new to me, never saw it before even if I always keep Task Manager open in background to monitor stats..
I have a 7 MB ADSL and usually on Task Manager I see something like that

as you can see the max speed is 7.7 Mbps and everything is fine..

But if I close the browser for a while it downgrades to

As I said I noticed this happening only a few days ago, never saw it before; I thought it could had been related to the system shutting down the ethernet card for power efficiency but disabling those options didn't change anything.

Basically I find this as a problem for responsiveness and when playing online games: seems I always have low ping issue and poor network performances..
Did you ever see something like that? Is it normal or what?

thanks a lot for paying attention, see you! *Wink

Why is my receive speed in ethernet section of task manager 10x more than my send speed?

Windows task manager is showing 10 times more network speed than actual

Your concern is why is this number 10x larger than the other number.

Your concern is not whether a particular speed test is completely accurate.

When I run this speed test along with the task manager --- all I see is 400 Mbps in the speedtest.net and 375 Mbps in the task manager. Do I care that the most accurate speed for my internet should be 415 Mbps (and that both numbers in the speedtest.net and task manager are wrong)? NO, not for the purpose of answering your post.

That completely answer your initial concern.

One number is not 10x larger than the other. One number is within 10% of the other number. The difference is speed is because the two apps were sampling speed at a slightly different time.
