    Why is my Secure Boot State option grayed out?


    Whenever I enter the BIOS settings to enable secure boot state, the option to switch to Secure Boot was enabled, but the Secure Boot State was grayed out, stuck on the disabled settings. The options looked something as follows:Secure Boot [Enabled] *Can edit*Secure Boot State [Disabled] *Cannot edit Grayed out*

    Secure boot state

    When I turn on "secure boot state", my PC has a high CPU error and cannot boot Windows, how can I fix this error and still make "secure boot state" turn on?

    So Linux is switching to secure boot also? Or they have to because of UEFI?

    Hi Elda,

    If the boot sequence didn't work, then we suggest try running the laptop in safe mode. To do this, here's a few steps to follow:

    • Power down your laptop.
    • Turn it back on again.
    • When you turn it back on, press F8 repeatedly until the power on option appeared.
    • If you see the boot option "Safe Mode with Networking", choose that option.
    • See if you can boot up in Safe mode.
