Windows 10: Why is my Spellcheck so dumb?

Since I bought my new machine, an iBUYPOWER with i7-9700F CPU, 16G RAM Win 10 Home, fast, powerful - and dumb! - the dictionary is missing MANY words I would expect to be in common usage. It is as if I have the child's dictionary of the best words rather than a standard Spellcheck.

Is there a child/adult switch to flip, or is the Home Edition scaled back?

There are hundreds of common words I have had to "Add To Dictionary" that make me wonder if the app has been deliberately "dumbed-down" to make people feel like they are smarter than a computer...
That may be sarcastic, but I honestly don't know. Any clues?

IS there a way to IMPORT Spellcheck additions from older machines?

How to permanently disable spellchecker in Edge browser?

• Press Windows logo key + I key.
• Click on devices.
• Go to Typing tab.
• Turn off, Highlight misspelled words.

Why has Windows 10 slowed my computer so much?

If you upgraded to Win10 with MBAM installed, it's very possible that the OS upgrade messed up something with MBAM.
(It was/is M$ "best practices" to temporarily uninstall your AV, AM and other security programs before upgrading to Win10, to minimize the chance of such corruption.)

Either way, for starters, I suggest a proper, clean MBAM reinstall.
I suggest carefully following ALL of the steps here: MBAM Clean Removal Process 2x.
Pointers:

• Please be sure you have your license info handy before you start
• Please be sure to deactivate your account before you uninstall (dashboard > "my account" > "deactivate")
• Please be sure to reboot when prompted by the removal tool
• It's a good idea to reboot again after the reinstall

My computer is telling me that my spellchecker is on, do I need a search bar to show it.

• Does it say when you open some program or app?
• When you say "need a search bar to sow it", what do you mean by that?

The Spellchecker settings vary from program to program. If you want to check if the Spellchecker is on, then you can refer the steps below. For Example, Internet Explorer, Word.. etc. have different settings. You also have a SpellChecker app.

• On the search bar type 'Settings' then select the button
  'Change PC Setting’.
• Select 'Typing' and then set 'Highlight Misspelled Words' slider to the
  "On" position.
• If you want setting to have automatically correct any misspelled words then you need to set
  'Autocorrect Misspelled Words' slider to the "On" position.
