Why is my SSD Journal drive's WriteCacheSize blank in Storage Spaces?

I'm trying to set up storage spaces to use what I believe is called "write back cache". I originally had 1 SSD and 6 HDDs, I found it painfully slow. So I replaced one HDD with an SSD, and I added one more SSD.

I'm trying to use the two Journal SSDs in the below list as the write back cache. I'm assuming I should see a value in the second image, but as you can see, it's blank.

    Any advice?

They're all part of one pool

When adding a journal for storage spaces, is the journal added to the storage pool or a the storage space?

I'm planning to create 2 storage spaces, 1 for backup and 1 for my main data. I was going to add 1 journal to each storage space, but it looks like the journal applies to the storage pool, not the storage space. Is that the case? if it is, is the better
approach to add 2 SSD drives to the storage pool as journals? If I add 2 drives as journals, how do I change the friendly name of the drives? Both of my drives that I want to use as journals have the same exact name.

    Thanks,

    Mike

How do I establish a journal in Windows 10 storage spaces?

    Awesome, thanks!

How much slower would it be with an HDD? It would still be faster than a storage space without a journal wouldn't it?

Since I assume the cache on the drive needs to be flushed periodically, is there a drive size that is just "too small"? For example, if I have a 120 GB drive, would it be flushing the cache too much to
    make it worthwhile?

    Definitely helps. Appreciate the info.

Why is my SSD Journal drive's WriteCacheSize blank in Storage Spaces?

How do I establish a journal in Windows 10 storage spaces?

Performance in my parity storage space is really slow and I'm trying to improve the speed. I've read about journals, but don't see an option to create journals in Windows 10 Pro, and need some help setting it up. I have 4, 10 TB drives in a parity (with
resiliency) storage space. Can I use HDD's for the journals or do they have to be SDD's? Can I use any size drives? Do I need mirrored drives or can I use a single drive for the journal? And what's the command to establish the journal? I don't see an option
in the GUI, so I'm guessing I need to use the command line in PowerShell.

    Any help is appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Mike
