    Why is my version 2004 installation paused at 91% for the third time?


    I have attempted the feature update to version 2004 of Windows 10 three times today and it never makes it past 91% of the installation process. I have 34 GB of free space on my drive so I'm confident that's not the source of the issue. If it matters, my computer is an HP Envy x360 with an AMD Ryzen 5 2500u.

    installing version 2004

    i tried to get version 2004 via windows update feature. but when it got stuck at downloading 87%, i paused it then after restarting i again started the update. but this time after ''getting things ready'' pop up it directly went to installing progress
    . there was no downloading progress. is it normal?

    Windows 10 2004 update stalls at 91% 5 times from June to August 2020.

    The subject says it all. I have tried on multiple occasions to install 2004 but every time it stalls on 91%. I have left it in this state for up to 12 hours to no avail. Is this ever going to be fixed?

    To solve this issue, follow these steps:

    1. Rollback to the last Stable version of Windows. Basically, restore your system to the last stable point.

    2. Download the Windows Update Assistant tool.

    3. Install the updates as recommended by that tool.

    Note: Windows 10 version 2004 has brought a lot of bugs with it. The best way to move forward is to wait until a patched Windows 10 version 2004 is released.
