Windows 10: Why is my W key opening up Word and why is my esc key closing my game

My W key opens word and my esc key is closing minecraft how do I fix that

ESC key not working in games

We'll need to isolate if the issue is with your keyboard or the game itself.

First, does your ESC key work outside of the game? Have you also tried connecting a different keyboard to see if the same issue occurs?

If your ESC key works outside of the game, you'll need to contact the game developer for further assistance regarding the game's interface and functions. On the other hand, if other keyboards work fine using ESC key in-game then you'll need to contact your
keyboard/computer manufacturer since that's already pointing to a hardware issue.

We'd appreciate it if you could confirm this in your next reply. Feel free to share your thoughts and concerns here so we can also assist you further if need be.

 

Win key (close for apps?)

I don't know of any way within Windows itself, but there is this well respected free open source program called Autohotkey that can do it easily.

You can even pick which Win Key to disable either 'LWin' or 'RWin' found under Modifier Keys in 'List all supported keys' link in this tutorial:

ESC key not working in games

my Escape key isn't working anymore inside of an game i don't know what is wrong i am in the game and i am as everyone pressing the esc button to get either to the menu to the options making somthing or getting out of the game the problem is nothing react
anymore like it actually should do so i ask the profesionels if you know somthin g about that or not or is it one of Your updates that the Escape button is going to be removed
