Why is my wifi adapter causing lag spikes?

The wifi adapter I have seems to be causing constant lag spikes on my computer. The speed is fine but the severe spikes every few seconds make it impossible to voice/video call or play online games. None of the other devices connected via wifi have this problem and strangely when I connect via mobile hotspot on my computer the connection is much more stable, only very occasionally spiking once every five or ten minutes.Just in case, this is the wifi adapter:https://www.alliedgaming.in/product/allied-usb-wifi-adapter/And also the I have a wifi extender if that matters:https://www.amazon.com.au/

Frequent and regular lag spikes on Wifi

    Thank you for the clarification.

There are a lot of possible causes for this matter. One possible cause is with your
Networking Hardware. However, we need to make sure that it is the case.
We suggest that you perform these methods of troubleshooting and check
    if there's any changes:

    Method 1: Reset TCP/IP

To do this, follow these steps:

    • Run
      Command Prompt
      as
      Administrator.

    • Run
      this
      command:

      • netsh
        int
        ip
        reset and hit
        Enter.

    Exit
    Command Prompt
    and
    monitor your
    WiFi connection.

Method 2: Disable auto turn-off of
    WiFi device.

    Go to
Network and Sharing Center. At the
    right pane, click
    Change adapter settings.
    Right-click
    on your
    connection name (WiFi name)
    and go to
    Properties.
    Click
    the
    "Configure..."
    button
    and go to
    Power Management
    tab.
    Uncheck/disable
    the
    radio button
    for
"Allow this device to turn off this device to save
    power". And then,
    Restart the PC (Important).

    Method 3: Reconfigure TCP/IP

To do this, follow these steps:

    • Run
      Command Prompt
      as
      Administrator.

    • Run
      these following
      commands:

      • netsh
        int
        tcp set heuristics
        disabled

      • netsh
        int
        tcp
        set global
        autotuninglevel=disabled

      • netsh
        int
        tcp set global
        rss=enabled

If the issue still persists, kindly contact your
    computer's manufacturer
    for further assistance.

Let us know how it goes.

    Regards.

    Random lag spikes

    Hi,

We would like to know more about your lag issue:

    • What browser are you using when you experience a lag?
    • Does the lag occur in a particular game?

In the meantime, we suggest you run the System Maintenance troubleshooter. Here are the steps:

    • Press Windows Key + X.
    • Click on Control Panel.
    • Select Troubleshooting.
    • On the left pane, click on View All.
    • Click on System Maintenance to run the troubleshooter.

    Looking forward to your response.

  4. Why is my wifi adapter causing lag spikes?

Frequent lag spikes on wifi connectivity

I was recently forced to switch from ethernet cable to a wifi connection.

At ethernet connection i had no issue of ping spikes but now in wifi im experiencing frequent lag spikes from 100ms-300ms.

I have already tried resetting the TCP/IP, disabling auto turn off of WiFi device, reconfiguring TCP/IP, disabling wlan autoconfig but to still no solution has come up to my problem.
