  2. My installation of Windows 10 is behaving randomly. Why is this?

    Hi,

Welcome to Microsoft Community and thank you for your interest in Windows 10.

I understand the inconvenience that you are experiencing. I will definitely assist you.

This issue may occur due to some corrupt files and third party software is conflicting to the issue. Try the below methods and check if it helps to resolve the issue.

    Method 1.

I would suggest you to perform system maintenance troubleshooter, it will perform common maintenance tasks in Windows, such as cleaning up unused files and shortcuts. System Maintenance Troubleshooter looks for unused files and shortcuts that you can
clean up or remove. Follow the below steps to perform System Maintenance troubleshooter:

    • Press on Windows key and type troubleshooting.

    • Click on troubleshooting and locate for
Run maintenance task and click on it.

    • Click on Advanced button and click on
Run as administrator (if you are prompt for administrator password please provide the password).

    • Now click on Next button to complete the troubleshooting.
If the issue still persist try the below method.

    Method 2.

I would suggest you to boot in safe mode and check if you encounter the same issue. Safe mode is a troubleshooting option for Windows that starts your computer with only basic service and functionality. If an existing problem doesn’t reappear when
you start windows in safe mode, you can eliminate the defaults settings and basic device drivers as possible cause (Applies to Window 10). Visit the below link on how to boot in safe mode:

    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-in/windows-8/windows-startup-settings-safe-mode

If the above method does fix the issue please try the below provided information.

    Method 3.

I would suggest to perform Clean boot and check if it helps to resolve the issue.
Clean boot process will help you determine which third party program/app that is causing this issue. It could be some other application or programs, which runs on the computer at the background, leading to this issue. Please visit the below link on
    how to perform Clean boot.

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/929135

Note: Please go through the section: How to reset the computer to start as usual after troubleshooting with clean boot of the Kb article to boot the computer in normal startup after fixing the issue.

Hope this information helps, post us with the status we will be glad to assist

  3. My installation of Windows 10 is behaving randomly. Why is this?

Thanks a lot for your help! I saw that some third party application in the first half of the services was causing this trouble(was most probably Google Chrome), I just reset the whole system.

One more thing though, the system now doesn't recognize my fingerprint reader. What can I do?

Why is my Windows 10 system behaving oddly?

Do you have a different keyboard and mouse to try out? Sounds like you might have a sticky key.

It's a laptop and nope it's not sticky key issues. I'm not even touching the mouse or keyboard and this happened all of the sudden ... I've just formatted my computer. I just hope it fixes this problem. Really, really strange!!

    Hi Slee,

You might want to try downloading "Driver Booster 3" and let it update all of your drivers. It may not fix it but updated drivers are always good to have. I know I've certainly had my fair share of driver-related issues.

It still sounds like a stuck key. If liquid was ever spilled on the keyboard or it may just be wearing out, it would cause this behavior.
