  2. How to connect Azure Point to Site VPN to a Windows 7 OS client?

    Hi,
Is it possible to still configure Azure Point to site VPN for Windows 7OS as of 21-7-2022?
I installed the VPN client and place/install all the necessary certs in the Windows 7 PC but keep getting Error 798 unable to verify/locate certificate.

The VPN client works perfectly fine for a Windows 10 OS, so I believe there is no issues with the guide provided by Microsoft.

    I have tried
    - All steps listed in the troubleshooting guide (Except creating an entirely new Virtual Network)
    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/vpn-gateway/vpn-gateway-troubleshoot-vpn-point-to-site-connection-problems

    - Enabling TLS 1.1 and TLS 1.2

I notice that the article below does not list Windows 7 as a supported OS.

    Azure VPN Gateway FAQ

Could anyone kindly enlighten me if this is possible or share with me alternate ways to enable Azure Point to Site VPN on a Windows 7 OS PC.

    Thanks in advance.

  3. Azure VPN Client - Configuration options

    Hello everyone,

I'm currently deploying the Azure VPN Client in a enterprise environment to several users. However, I noticed that there are not many settings that can be configured during the installation. Below an overview of settings I would like to have configured (during the installation, or afterwards by modifying a registry key or implementing a group policy).

    • Azure VPN Client to be configured with the setting "Compact mode" enabled. By default this setting is not enabled and needs to be enabled by the user.
    • Azure VPN Client prompts "there is a new update available". I would like the "check for updates" feature to be disabled in order to prevent getting users bothered by this notification as they are unable to install software anyways.
Thanks in advance for all your help!

Why is my Windows 11 client trying to connect to azure windows hello?

Azure VPN Client - Can't access resources when on both wired (ethernet) and wireless enabled and connecting to the the VPN

    Hello,

I'm using Azure VPN Client app (latest version from Microsoft Store) on Windows 11 that's already fully configured and working.

I have ethernet cable connected and wifi enabled too. Windows 11 automatically defaults to ethernet connection when available, otherwise it fallback to the wireless wi-fi.

The issue is when I connect to the VPN through Azure VPN Client and I have them both connected/enabled (although it's using the ethernet one), although it shows as connected in the vpn client, I can't access any resources although I could ping them. The workaround solution is to connect to another older obsolete vpn client that I used to have Cisco AnyConnect which then I'm able to access the resources (this is obsolete vpm client, so I can't really rely on it as a long term solution/workaround).

If I disable the ethernet network connection, then it fallbacks to the wifi connection and when I try to reconnect to the vpn through the azure vpn client again then it's working and I'm able to access the resources.

Any idea how to configure/resolve this so I can have them both connected/enabled and not have any issue with accessing the resources?

I noticed that the profile used for azure vpn client doesn't have a secondary profile configured - should this matter to this problem? Or should I look into something else?

    Thank you.
