Especially taking into account, how many flaws are in 10 right now, I wonder how it made RTM.

    :)

  2. Why is System Restore disabled after Anniversary Update?

When I checked, my SR was not turned off. Wonder what I did to turn it back on??

Why is System Restore disabled after Anniversary Update?

It does appear to have turned back on after installing display driver updates. Confusing behavior for sure. Thanks!

Why is system restore disabled by default?

System Restore is enabled for me by default (clean install). Perhaps if upgraded, it carried over System Restore settings from Windows 8/7 and they were disabled.

  5. I did clean setup about 20 times last week, it was always disabled.

System restore was enabled for me when I upgraded. It is a very stable OS, that is why it reached RTM

Strange. SR was disabled on 2 fresh installs for me. Wonder if it has to do with drives being SSD.

  9. Thanks for the input, I wonder what is the cause then?! *Think
I guess, I will just to have create a setting to enable it afterwards.

Well not when you read the forums. *Zip

Just ShellExperienceHost crashing causes inability to open Start/Time/Settings.

It is well known that more negative results are posted than positive. I could post on every thread, well it works for me. While that is true, it doesn't help. But to say that W10 is flawed is wrong, that is my opinion.

    edit:

My main point I'm trying to make is most problems are either hardware, driver related, or some third party software. Not the OS itself

  11. This setting enables SR, still trying to figure out, how to set up disk usage in percentage.

    reg add "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\SPP\Clients" /v " {09F7EDC5-294E-4180-AF6A-FB0E6A0E9513}" /t REG_MULTI_SZ /d 1

Are not they always? If everyone was using the same hardware, software, Windows would be flawless. *Wink

Now why do you want to go messing around in the registry to turn VSS & System restore on, when it's not necessary?

Try to do to do it every time you install Windows along with hundreds of other settings. *Smile

I do*Biggrin but if Joe Normal tries that, the BSOD team will probably have to help because of major VSS errors. We should post a warning with registry changes, something like: " The PC General has found it dangerous to computer health for beginners to fiddle in the registry" *Roflmao2

Seriously though I do everything "by hand" after so many test installs and reinstalls it's second nature now.

  15. Well, it is not like Joe can create reg file out of it. *Wink

I have actually posted my reg file for reference in tweaks section on another forum and people just downloaded it and run like it just an addon and then started complaining, what does not work, things that were even marked in the description. I did not know, if I have to laugh or cry. *Confused

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Wcmsvc]
; Windows Connection Manager (Required for WiFi Conection)
    "Start"=dword:00000004

EDIT: I have done it on this forum as well, going to put big WARNING there. *Rolleyes
