Windows 10: Why is the access password set to off, but still need to enter the user name and password...

Hello, I have turn off password to access shared folder in control panel. But when someone try to open the shared folders of mine through Network, they still need enter my username and passwords?

No login password craziness

Brink, that was the missing step. What threw me off was in netplwiz, where it asks about password for my MS account, the user name was not the same as my MS account name. Once I entered the password (twice) I can now login without entering a password. In fact the name that was listed was not the MS account name, but a folder name. The folder is the one that shows when you click on C:\Users.

Yep, reset is the best option. Setting a custom User name and password nullifies the default password.

If you are trying to remove the login password, I suggest you to follow the steps below and check if it helps.

• Press windows key + R to open command prompt, and type "netplwiz"
• Uncheck "user must enter user name and password to use this computer", then click "ok"
• Enter your user name and password, then click "ok"
• Restart your computer.
