Why is the brightness slider from the Quick Access section of the taskbar which has Wifi, Bluetooth, Volume, Hotspot, etc. greyed out? I can't interact with it at all and it seems to have occurred following a recent update. I can still change the brightness using the keyboard's function keys but it is often more convenient to use the mouse to change it via the aforementioned option. Is there a way to fix the issue? I have a laptop running what I assume is the latest version of all software since they are fully up to date, including the display driver. However, it should be noted that there

  2. Quick Access bar

    Hi,

Thank you for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

We would be glad to help you with the issue you are facing today. I understand the difficulty.

    Remove items from Quick access.

I would suggest you to follow the below steps.

    • Right click on the file or folder.
    • Select the option “unpin from the quick access”

To pin items to an item already on the quick access bar.

    Follow the below steps.

I would suggest you to create folder in the desktop screen & place all the files or folder which need to pin to the quick access.

    • Open the quick access.
    • Select the Desktop option.
    • Right click on the folder & select the option “pin to quick access”

Hope this helps in resolving the issue. If the issue persists, do get back to us. We will be happy to assist you.

    Thank you.

Brightness slider replacing brightness quick action button from 1903

    Hi all

Does anyone else feel like they've lost some functionality here?

For clarity, I'm talking about option 3 in this very useful guide.

I understand that the new slider gives more control, but the previous method was very quick to change in increments of 25%, and I tend not to always need such granular controls beyond this.

My suggestion would be to keep the slider, but to turn the bulb icon just to the left of it into a button which increases the brightness in 25% increments per the previous quick action button functionality.

    Thoughts?

Why is the brightness slider from the Quick Access section of the task bar which has Wifi,...

Is there a quick way for brightness adjustment as "slider - without fixed range" in Windows 10?

Is there a way to quickly adjust or change brightness in windows 10 as Slider without fixed range something like from Quick Access Toolbar?

I'm really struggling to find a quick access of brightness adjustment in Windows 10.
In Windows 8.1, brightness adjustment was very much simple and quickly can be adjusted with slider in Panel/Quick access tool bar but whereas in Windows 10 the adjustment option was provided but only with these fixed range as 0, 25, 50, 75, 100 in Panel/Quick access tool bar. Another way is longer process by navigating to the settings and adjusting the brightness in the Display.

In Windows 10, I want the brightness adjustment feature in quick access panel/toolbar through slider (without any fixed/pre-defined range) as similar to Windows 8.1.

    Kindly Help!
