Windows 10: Why is the Sculpt Wireless Keyboard so bad?

I have two of these, one that Microsoft sent me as a replacement for the first one that's had issues from the day I started using it. After holding a key down for a certain amount of time, the whole keyboard stops accepting input from about 10 seconds to longer depending on if a key is pressed during that "shut down" state. It is as if there is some sort of fail safe that turns if off in case a key is being pressed for too long accidentally. Unfortunately this only triggers when I'm playing video games and gets me killed quite often. This keyboard is not suggested for anyone who games because

Coverting wireless Keyboard in Sculpt Ergonomic desktop to wired Keyboard

The USB receiver of my Sculpt Ergonomic desktop got damaged and I am not getting any replacement from Microsoft. I was wondering if the wireless keyboard could be converted to wired keyboard. I like the keyboard. Plus it is just bad for the environment if
such keyboards are just thrown away.

Sculpt Comfort Keyboard not registering 1st keystroke

Hello Kit,

An outdated or incompatible driver can be one of the possible factors why this issue occurs. That being said, I suggest you to Run the Hardware and Devices troubleshooter
and check. Follow the steps to run the troubleshooter:

1. Press Windows key + S on your keyboard.
2. Type Troubleshoot and hit
   Enter.
3. Click on Hardware and Devices.
4. Run the troubleshooter and follow the on-screen prompt.
