Windows 10: Why is the search bar instant calculator inconsistent??

Sometimes it will provide an answer, sometimes it doesn't. It almost seems like it can't tell the difference between a search or an equation.I think 1700*0.155 is a simple enough equation, however I get nothing. It's frustrating, is it there or not?

That Instant Search Calculator is part of the Cortana functionality, did you disable Cortana when making those changes?

In version 1903, Microsoft split the Search and Cortana functionality, please check that you have both turned on (icons on Taskbar), then check if that calculation function works in Cortana, not the search box . . .

Upgraded from 1803 to 1903 I think, and I did some tweaking around the settings so it would be optimized for the gaming experience, but I can't remember what I changed and disabled some of the functions which I wanted to use now but I can't as I don't
remember what I changed. One of them was the Instant search calculator where if you type a mathematical operation in the search bar it automatically shows you the result, eg if you search 1 + 1 it shows you two but on mine, it doesn't show anything, it does
show search up on web 1 + 1 and it says preview is not available, is there a way to fix this?
