  1. Why is the Volume and what I'm listening to not going away?

Hi- I have found myself with two black boxes on my desktop whenever I am listening to music or watching a video. These boxes are shown in the attached picture and include the volume I'm listening at and what I am listening to. They will not go away if clicked on and are layered above whatever app is currently in use. They will only go away if I close the application or internet browser tab that was making the sound. They even superimpose themselves over video games. How do I get rid of these boxes? It's not letting me insert an image. Thanks in advance!

    :)

  2. Make Zune Controls Go Away From Volume Notification?

After I have listened to audio in the Zune hub or say a radio station on the FM tuner, when I go back to the home screen and try to use the volume up/down, I still see the Zune event (or FM station) on the volume notification area.

How do I make this go away, short of rebooting the phone?

  3. CORTANA IN LISTEN MODE

    Hi Andrew,

Thank you for your interest in Windows 10!

What is the edition of Windows 10 (Home, Education, Pro etc.)?

I understand you have issues with Cortana in the Listen mode. If you have Windows 10 PRO installed in the system, then I would suggest you to try the following steps to change some group policy settings.

      • Press Windows key + R, type
        Gpedit.msc
        and hit ENTER.

      • Go to Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Search

      • Check for: 'Allow Cortana' and 'Do not allow web search'
        – Make sure they are ‘Not Configured’ or set ‘Allow Cortana’ to Enabled and ‘Do not allow web search’ to Disabled

      • Open an elevated command prompt and run:
        gpupdate /force

      • Go to Settings > Verify and correct: Time, Region and Language

And, then go to Settings > Apps and Features > Manage optional features > Download Speech Recognition and Text-to-speech
NOTE: The troubleshooting steps are only applicable to
    Windows 10 PRO
    .

Let us know if the issue gets resolved using the troubleshooting steps.
