    Why is there a DePaul University Banner at the Top of my Search Bar? How do I get rid of it?


    There is now a Banner at the top of my search bar menu box for DePaul University. The box has also been reconfigured and changed as well including a change of font and arrangement of items. How do I get rid of this banner and get my search menu box back to its original state? What other changes have been made to my desktop user interface because of this?I have tried looking at various settings, control panel, google searched, Reddit, and a variety of other ways to find an answer. I cannot find anything to assist me in getting the search menu box back to original state. Thank you in advance for

    Volume bar banner

    Hi,



    Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.



    I understand how annoying it can be when you get the Volume bar banner, while playing music/video on Google Chrome.
    To have a clarity on this issue, we need some information.



    • Was there a major change or an update on your system, prior to which you weren't facing this issue?
    • Do you receive the same popup when you play music/videos on Edge or Internet Explorer?
    • Do you have any extensions enabled in Google Chrome for playing music?
    • Which version of Google Chrome are you using?


    However, we suggest you to try this steps and check if you are able to get rid of the banner.

    1. Press Windows + I key from the keyboard to open
      Settings.
    2. Then click on Systems. Then select
      Notifications & actions from the left pane.
    3. Then under Get notifications from these senders, toggle the switch for
      Audio to disable the Banner and Sound notifications.
    4. Close all the browser and reopen Google Chrome, to play some
      music/videos.
    5. Check if you get the Volume bar banner back.

    search bar at the top of my screen

    Hi Kathy

    Do you have a web search bar stick to the top of your Desktop, that stays on top of everything?

    If so it is one of 2 search bars, the usual culprit is Web Bar, but that may lao be a Google search bar . .

    Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager

    Scroll down to find Wb. exe - on the right it should say Web Bar in the Description - if you don't find that also look for a google bar

    Right click that and choose 'End Task'

    Does that get rid of this annoyance?

    If so, go to Control Panel - Programs and Features

    Scroll to the bottom of the list of installed Apps, then find and Uninstall Web Bar
