Why is there a white rectangle on the right side of the edge browser where Bing Chat is? I cannot remove and it stands in the way of using Bing chat.Thank you

More Ways to Access Bing Chat

We’re excited about Monday’s announcement that Bing Chat Enterprise is now available to Microsoft 365 A3 and A5 Faculty users at no additional cost. We look forward to hearing from educators about how they are using it! Here’s a summary of what has changed in Bing Chat since our July 31 update:

Chrome desktop browser support: Bing Chat and Bing Chat Enterprise are now supported in the Chrome desktop browser (using the latest Stable Channel update) for Windows, Mac, and Linux. Support for other browsers on desktop and mobile is forthcoming.

Bing Chat Enterprise on Edge Mobile: We’ve enabled support for Bing Chat Enterprise on Edge Mobile. If your organization has enabled Bing Chat Enterprise, open Edge Mobile, sign in with your work account, and click on the Bing Chat button to access Bing Chat Enterprise.

New Bing search page templates: We’ve updated our Bing search page templates for certain topics with a more cohesive design and using generative AI content. The new design avoids content duplication and makes more efficient use of space on the search results page, helping you find answers faster.

To experience the new design, ask Bing about “Olivia Colman”.

Expanded access to Bing Chat on Swiftkey. Users can now use Bing Chat in Swiftkey for 30 turns / day without needing to sign in with their Microsoft account.

Microsoft updated Bing Chat History, Charts, Export, and more

This week, we continue to ship features we announced on May 4th and respond to your product feedback. Some of these features may appear temporarily in your Bing chat experience as we experiment with them. These Release Notes will update you on which features have shipped as of today and are now fully available to everyone.

Here’s what we’ve updated:

Chat history: Bing now remembers the history of previous chat threads and displays them on the right-hand side of the chat window. From here, you can return to any previously saved conversation and pick up where you left off. Chat history also has controls that allow you to easily delete, rename, export, or share a conversation with others. Names of chats are based by default on the first query in the thread.

Charts and visualizations: We’re continuing to use more visual elements to help make chat answers more complete. Ask “What’s the MSFT stock price?” or “Rank cities in Brazil by population”, and Bing chat will generate a chart.

Export: To help you put your chat answers to work, you can also now export them to a PDF, text file, or Microsoft Word document.

Video overlay: Some chat responses will trigger a video response. When this happens, you can now click on the video to launch a full-screen video overlay. If it includes timestamps, these will appear on the right and you can use them to navigate inside the video.

Optimized answers for recipes: We continue to redesign visual elements that appear at the end of text-based answers so they’re better designed for the Bing chat experience. This week we released improvements for topics related to recipes.

Share fixes: We’ve fixed some issues where the Share dialog took longer to display than intended and did not display the question (only the answer) in the shared conversation.

Auto-suggest quality: We’ve improved the usefulness of suggested words when typing your prompts in Bing chat.

Privacy improvements in Edge sidebar: Chat in sidebar can summarize and answer questions about documents viewed in the Edge browser—whether online or on your PC. When you ask questions about content on your PC or private content that is otherwise not part of the search index, Bing chat will not record any logs of these conversations. With the introduction of chat history, you’ll also notice these conversations also do not appear as part of your history.

New LaTeX Support in Bing Chat

Last week, we announced updates to SwiftKey and other mobile apps that bring Bing chat to your fingertips in ways that improve your productivity. We’re also excited about yesterday’s announcement that Copilot is coming to Microsoft Viva.

Here’s a summary of what else has changed in Bing chat since our April 7 update:

LaTeX Support: We shipped support for LaTeX markup—allowing Bing chat to correctly display complex mathematical expressions. This makes Bing chat an even more useful tool for learning math concepts or writing technical research papers.

Reducing End-of-conversation Triggers: We’ve heard your feedback that messages would sometimes trigger Bing to unnecessarily end conversations (e.g. “I’m sorry but I prefer not to continue this conversation.” or “It might be time to move on to a new topic.”). This should now occur less frequently than before, and we’re continuing to investigate cases where this happens.

News Grounding: We’ve taken steps to help Bing give better answers if you’re asking questions about news (e.g. “What are today’s top breaking news stories?”). Expect us to make further grounding improvements based on your feedback.

Additionally, we fixed some known bugs—including:

Reducing instances where Bing chat triggered unnecessary duplicative searches.

Minimizing errors that led to Bing chat returning no response to queries.
