Windows 10: Why is there no option to sort photos in OneDrive by facial tags?

In Google photos, I tagged everyone's faces so if I need to find photos of a particular person, i just need to type their name and all their photos show up. In OneDrive, I need to scroll, and scroll to sift through all my photos to find someone or something. This goes for the Windows and iphone app. This is very inefficient. Why?

Use Microsoft Photos facial recognition to make photo tags (visible online)

Hi everybody,

I'm totally loving the facial recognition option in the Microsoft Photos app. There's just one thing I'd really like: to be able to use that option in the browser version of OneDrive as well. I know facial recognition is only saved locally and not online, but I was wondering if it would be possible to add tags to the photos that are based on local facial recognition, so I can use those tags to find photos of certain people in OneDrive online.

I was thinking maybe one of those two options would be there, but I need someone to tell me if one of those is possible:

- Convert the facial recognition information into a tag automatically, or;

- Select all photos from a person and add a custom tag to all photos at once.

Who could help me out? Thanks in advance!

 

Facial Tagging in Photos

I recently scanned and imported 2,000 old family photos. Facial recognition tagging worked perfectly on about 100 of them in one folder. Is there a way to force it to re-scan the other folders? I can't find any setting that allows me to run or tag anyone
else. Thank you.

 

Tagging photos

Hello

i need a program to search through my photo collection and do facial recognition, so will be presented with all photos that have ‘ Fred’ which I identified from a previous photo. Once I have all the ‘Fred’ photos displayed, then by selecting all I can add the TAG ‘Fred’ to the file properties field ‘metadata’.

looked at windows live gallery, but it looks as though it groups the photos into its own folders and can’t tell if it will do what I want.....any thoughts please, I have 1000s of photos to sort and tag with names.
