Windows 10: Why is there not a simple option to exclude folders in Microsoft photos & legacy?

Are these devs dumb enough to not consider this app requiring such a feature? ****

Backup Options: Lists of Folders to backup or exclude

Settings - Backup Options has lists of folders to back up and folders to exclude. I want NOTHING in either list. But all I can do is ADD to those lists. If I add a folder to EXCLUDE, it goes off backup and appears in EXCLUDE. But that's NOT what
I want. I just want to delete all folder names from those lists. There doesn't seem to be a way to delete a listed folder. What am I missing? Thanks.

 

File History won't exclude folders

I just tried to exclude C:\Users\Donny\Downloads using the legacy control panel File History interface. When I clicked "Select Folder" the folder was added to the excluded folders list. When I clicked "Save changes" and went back into the excluded folders
list, C:\Users\Donny\Downloads was not listed at all.

So certainly not fixed for me.

 

Microsoft Photo Legacy - Image resize option changed overnight!

I use Microsoft Photos to edit photographs by first cropping them, then using 'Resize Image' to save them with one of 4 options such as for web pages, or emails etc.

The latest Microsoft Photos changed this option to now have a variable size and compression options rather than fixed options.

This adds a lot more work, rather than a simple click I have to juggle the size and compression then check the saved image to see if it is acceptable.

I got around this by installing Microsoft Photos Legacy, which gave me back my preset options. This has worked well for quite a long time, but this morning, 1st April 2023 the preset options have been replaced by the options that are in the latest Microsoft Photos.

I thought this could be a glitch so I have tried uninstalling and re-installing Photos Legacy yet I still cannot get back the preset options.

Does anyone know how to get them back.

Not sure if it is a glitch or Microsoft have changed things but why would the Photos Legacy software use the resizing from the latest Photos software?
