  1. Why is there still no auto-select of the next file after deleting a file in file explorer?

When reviewing and deleting files the most logical thing to do is to select the next file after one is deleted. That's how all of the file managers on mac and linux work. But not windows. WHY? The last time this question was asked here was 2012. It's 2024, we're several versions ahead and yet this basic behavior is still not there. It's such a simple change in the code too. So i'm posting this question in not in the hopes of the answer but that MS might be listening and add this small, but oh so helpful feature into their backlog to help shrink the functionality gap with other major O

  2. Cant Delete Files From Desktop

Well, ran into a weird bug with vista, for some reason i cant delete files from desktop, this normaly happens to .exe files, the ONLY fix seems to be to KILL explorer.exe, and delete the file, then restat explorer, anybody got any idea why this happens?

Windows Explorer crashing due to large files

It's an .exe right? Explorer probably read its icon (to a cache) when it was a "small" file and now call the quits when it finds "such a big" file.

If you want to delete it, use the console after killing explorer, you can run the console from TaskManager (Application -> New Task -> cmd). You might want to try copy the file to a different location (copy, not cut) and see if explorer can handle it in the new location before deleting it.

  4. Why is there still no auto-select of the next file after deleting a file in file explorer?

    Cant Delete Files From Desktop

no x64 support, te x64 version never was made avalable.

and yes, it says the file is in use, If I kill explorer.exe(desktop) i can use explorer to move/delete the files no problems, its a pain tho because then manytimes i gotta log out or restart to get all my stupid tray icons back(some apps dont auto recover)
