Windows 10: Why is what I type in a document or web site suddenly changing what's in my address bar?

Today, for the 1st time, I can be writing in a document or even here in this box, and all of a sudden my address bar is being affected. What is THAT?

Web Addresses

to remove addresses from the list that appears when I start to enter a new address.

You need to turn off auto suggest feature.

In Edge:

Click the 3 dots on top right hand side, click Settings then click on 'View advance settings'

toggle off 'Show search and site suggestion as I type' in Privacy and services.

For Firefox:

Click the 3 bars on top right hand side, click 'options'. Click Privacy and Security on your left. Under Address Bar, click 'Change preferences for search engine suggestions'. Uncheck 'Show search suggestions in address bar results'

For Chrome:

Click the 3 dots on top right hand side, click Settings. Scroll until the end and click 'Advanced'.

Toggle off 'Use a prediction service to help complete searches and URLs typed in the address bar'

 

Add a button to the address bar.

I would like to add the Zoom button to my new Edge address bar. Have found the following how to do it on the web but they don't work like the instructions say.

To customize the buttons that appear next to the address bar, use these steps:

1. Open Microsoft Edge.
2. Click the Settings and more menu button on the top-right corner. (I assume that is the three dots in a row)
3. Select the Show in toolbar sub-menu. (Don't see 'Show in toobar)
4. Click the action button that you want to add or remove from the toolbar.

Go to Internet Options, click Autocomplete Settings in Content tab, tick "Suggesting URLs" box and click OK.
