  1. Why is Windows 11 taking so long to rewrite a modified file on my C-drive ?

In the past few months for some reason, Windows 11 Pro 64 bit Version 22H2 Build 22621.1265 has slowed down considerably when saving or rewriting a modified file or moving a file within my C-drive. Sometimes up to three or four minutes for something small like a .PDF file. I've tried turning of file indexing but that made no difference. System: Dell Inspiron 14-500011th gen Intel i7 Processor 2.8 GHz12 Gb RAM500 Gb SSD drive with 171 Gb free space

    :)

Windows Explorer is slow to update "date modified" and hampers searching for most recently updated files

Windows Explorer doesn't seem to be keeping up with "date modified". E.g. I modify a file in Word then save it to my local drive. Then I open Windows Explorer and sort by Date Modified. The file I just saved should be displayed at the top of the file
list, but it doesn't. I have to also add that it "sometimes" works, but most of the time, it doesn't. It seems like it takes several minutes for the file system to update to sort by Date Modified. Any suggestions?

  3. File named “F6F501913800” appears in C: drive?

It’s not in any folders on the C: drive, it’s where the folders (like users, windows, and program files) are listed. Scanning with MalwareBytes Antimalware shows no threats, right-clicking brings the drop-down menu for files with no extension, the way folders
and files are listed in C: gives a “date modified” and the date of ot last being modified as “8/27/2017 at 8:54 AM.” the size shows “1 kb.” and the tabs under properties are the usual “General, Security, Deatils, Previous Versions” tabs. I think it may be
something to do with the Windows 10 Upgrade folder (which is for Creators Update) because every time I uninstall the Upgrade Assistant, it always reappears within the C: drive. I would attach pictures but I’m typing from the Google Chrome app on an iPad.

Why is Windows 11 taking so long to rewrite a modified file on my C-drive ?

How to change SYSTEM drive letter to C from another letter

I am working on a step by step process to fix the computer for windows 11 upgrade. (Currently have Windows 10)

This was a built PC, but when my friend installed the OS for me somehow the windows install drive became the F drive.

Here is a view of disk management

I want to do the following (believe I need to do in this order).
    1. Move windows install drive letter from F to C
    2. Fix it so bootloader is MBR / on the SSD
Afraid of just changing the letter in disk management as the system will look for system files in the f-drive. I do have AOMEI partition assistant installed if that is useful for this task.
I really appreciate any help in how to do it.
