Windows 10: Why is windows defender locking onto USB files....

I have been having my USB drives get broken because you can't eject the drive due to some process thanks for not telling me what is holding onto what Microsoft holding onto files on the USB drive.

I have found out from event 225 in event viewer that Windows Defender is the culprit.

Even if I shutdown, the USB drives are not released and it leaves the USB file system corrupt.

Eventually this results in a completely broken USB drive that can't even be fixed by a full format.

This is CRIMINAL!

It's corrupting all my backup data!

Get your **** together Microsoft!

Installing windows off of a USB stick

Step By Step from vista:
From admin cmd prompt

1. diskpart
1a. list disk
2. select disk 1 (replace 1 with your usb drive)
3. clean
4. create partition primary
5. select partition 1 (replace 1 with your usb drive)
6. active
7. format fs=fat32
8. assign
9. exit

Copy Windows Vista's DVD ROM content to the Flash Drive

xcopy d:\*.* /s/e/f e:\ (d being your vista cd and e being your usb stick)

And that's it, boot off your usb disk

• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK

All files on Downloads folder gone after updating windows defender

• In the search box type as ‘Windows Defender’ and click on it.
• Under the tab ‘History’ select the option ‘Quarantined items’.
