Windows 10: Why is Windows resetting my language against my settings

This is a constant irritant for me. I'm English, I use a UK layout keyboard, when I installed Windows I chose to only install the UK layout keyboard. Windows however constasntly resets itself to a US layout despite any settings I pick. It's very annoying to constantly have to change the layout.

Windows will also deny the that it's even has a US language pack installed despite changing it US layout all the time.


Steps I have taken:

- Adding the US language pack and removing it again. Only works as a temporary solution

- Removing it via powershell. Only works as a temporary solution

- Reinstalled Windows about 4 times at this point, still only a temporary solution.


Is that a regedit of some kind that will straight up remove Windows' ability to change my keyboard and language settings because this is getting infuriating constantly having to change that

Windows 8.1 update changed the language, can't change back

Maybe, these will help... it seems it is a common enough problem.

Language packs are no longer available after you upgrade to Windows 8.1

Change your Windows display language

  (If you're using a mouse, point to the lower-right corner of the screen, move the mouse pointer up, click Settings, and then click Change PC settings.)

• Tap or click Set as primary to move the language to the top of the list. If the language can become your Windows display language, you'll see Will be display language after next sign-in appear under the language.
• Sign out and then sign back in to finish.

Resetting language and regions

Language

Hi Sassy,

To remove the Croatian language in Windows 10, we suggest that you follow these steps:

• Open the Settings app, select Time & Language, and click
  Region & Language.
• Under Add a language, select English, and click
  Set as default.
• Select the Croatian language and click Remove.
  
• Close the Settings app, restart the computer, and check if the issue persists.
